The match commenced at 1 p.m. ET, captivating golf enthusiasts with its nail-biting twists and turns. Justin Thomas, Billy Horschel, and Patrick Cantlay represented Atlanta Drive with Lucas Glover sitting out. Meanwhile, The Bay prepared to face Boston Common Golf in the final match of the night, with Wyndham Clark, Ludvig Åberg, and Min Woo Lee ready to compete, though Tyrrell Hatton would not participate.
The match between Atlanta and Los Angeles began with Los Angeles Golf Club taking an early lead. Patrick Cantlay made a valiant effort to maintain Atlanta's momentum, nearly achieving a hole-in-one on Hole 14. However, Tommy Fleetwood kept Los Angeles ahead by sinking a challenging 17-foot putt to tie the hole. Serena Williams watched the proceedings with bated breath, especially during Los Angeles' performance on Hole 4.
Despite trailing, Atlanta staged an impressive comeback victory in overtime, ultimately defeating Los Angeles 6-5. Atlanta strategically played their hammer ahead of Hole 13, making it worth two points. In the evening showdown, The Bay prepared to take on Boston Common Golf with Shane Lowry set to be active, while Min Woo Lee would remain on the sideline. Collin Morikawa also sat out this match.
