Angel Yin emerged victorious at the LPGA Thailand tournament, securing her win by a single stroke against Japan's Akie Iwai. Demonstrating precision and skill, Yin delivered a flawless final round at the prestigious event held at Siam Country Club's Pattaya Old Course. Her performance included an impressive seven birdies and no bogeys, culminating in a four-round total of 28-under 260.
Despite the pressure from competitors, Yin maintained her composure throughout the tournament. Akie Iwai made a formidable challenge with a stunning score of 61, the lowest of the day, featuring 10 birdies. However, Iwai's efforts were marred by a lone bogey on the par-4 17th hole, leaving her just short of the top spot.
The competition saw strong representation from Thai players, who completed the top five positions. Jeeno Thitikul claimed third place with a score of 21-under 267. Meanwhile, Patty Tavatanakit and Moriya Jutanugarn shared fourth place, both finishing at 19-under 269. Yin's triumph marks her second LPGA title victory following her success at the Buick LPGA Shanghai in 2023.
Angel Yin's career has seen notable achievements, including being a two-time major runner-up at the 2023 Chevron Championship and the 2019 U.S. Women's Open. Her previous best finish at the LPGA Thailand was a shared third place in 2021, making this victory especially significant.
The LPGA Thailand tournament serves as the inaugural stop of the LPGA's Asian swing. The tour will continue its journey with upcoming events scheduled in Singapore and China over the next two weeks, promising more exciting golf action.
