Jordan Brand has finally and officially revealed the Air Jordan 40. This iconic performance-driven sneaker marries components from its rich history along with new features created for the game’s current athletes. The new model debuts at a $200 price point. It includes “The Classic” colorway, released wide on July 12 via Jordan.com and key retail partners.
True to its predecessors, The Air Jordan 40 celebrates its history while unveiling innovative design features. It boasts a herringbone traction pattern, essential for optimal grip on the court, and incorporates a tongue design inspired by the iconic Jordan 5. The kick reminds us of the Jordan 3 beautiful aesthetics with its heel and lace eyelets. The Jumpman logo on the toe box nods back to the Jordan 12. The MJ signature is included on the shoe, adding distinct flavor from the Jordan 15.
For Jason Mayden, chief design officer for Jordan Brand, the Air Jordan 40 is not just a shoe. More than anything, it represents the future of the Air Jordan family. He shared with the world a very thrilling scientific breakthrough! For the first time, we’ve combined two revolutionary Nike, Inc. innovations to produce the Air Jordan of the future. We wouldn’t be Jordan Brand if we weren’t sweating the places where style and performance collide. To that end, Mayden went on to highlight, “This is the performance basketball shoe to beat on the market.”
Their new production line aims to meet the demands of today’s players. In doing so, it pays tribute to the brand’s deep heritage. As Sarah Mensah, a prominent figure at Jordan Brand, noted, “This is an incredible moment for our brand as we define the next era of greatness alongside the next generation of hoopers.”
From sporty to chic, the Air Jordan 40’s new design perfectly fuses creativity and culture making this sneaker release the most anticipated yet. Paolo Banchero, a rising NBA star and member of the Jordan Family, expressed his enthusiasm for the new release: “I can’t wait to take the court in the Air Jordan 40. This shoe was made to match today’s basketball flair. It has an artistic progressive streak, due in large part to its affiliation with the Jordan Family. My commitment to performance will take my game and this sport to a whole new level. I’m always proud to say that I rep the Jumpman, the greatest icon ever created.
After “The Classic” launch colorway, patrons can expect to see more editions of the Air Jordan 40. The “Blue Suede” version debuts on August 20th! Look forward to the “Dusty Rose” edition, dropping on September 20th!
