That gives this deal a place as the highest guarantee for a non-quarterback in NFL history. Hutchinson’s new agent, Mike McCartney, confirmed the extension. This deal ensures that the gifted wideout will remain with the franchise through the 2026 season, locking up his future.
Reflecting Hutchinson’s immediate success, he was the second overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft following his collegiate career at the University of Michigan. Since joining the league in 2017, he’s had a monumental impact on the field. This season, he’s already tallied six sacks. He now ranks second in the NFL with 29 total quarterback pressures, second only to Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons. On top of that, Hutchinson has forced four fumbles this season, which ties him with Joey Bosa for the league lead. His phenomenal performance has rightfully brought him all kinds of awards. After experiencing a challenging 2024 season that was cut short due to a fractured tibia and fibula suffered in Week 6, Hutchinson has returned to his dominant form in 2025. His resurgence has been key in the Lions’ defense rounding back into form as they hope to continue riding high on their postseason breakthrough.
