Afghanistan Triumphs Over UAE in T20 Tri-Series Match

In a thrilling T20 encounter at the Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium on Friday, Afghanistan defeated their hosts the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Whether it was their bowlers or batsmen, everyone put their hand up to take the team to victory. With Afghanistan winning the toss and choosing to bat first, it ensured a highly competitive limited-overs encounter.

With Afghanistan’s captain, Ibrahim Zadran, anchoring his batting unit—fighting for his team’s top placing—the match developed into a salvage job. The Afghan bowlers did not hardly silence whatever their remarkable capabilities were. Fareed Ahmad Malik, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Noor Ahmad, and Abdullah Ahmadzai were all equally important in restricting the UAE’s powerful batting order. Bowler Fareed Ahmad Malik overs 3 Runs 35 Wickets 1 Run per wicket 35 Mujeeb Ur Rahman, meanwhile, bowled 4 overs, gave away only 27 runs and took another wicket.

Sharafuddin Ashraf topped the attack by taking a wicket at the cost of just 20 runs from his 4 over spell. As for Noor Ahmad, he added to the wicket-takers list, bowling 4 overs and conceding only 23 runs. Abdullah Ahmadzai left his stamp on the match, taking wickets in 3 overs for 31 runs. The bowling mercenary unit combined beautifully to demolish the UAE batting card. They restricted the challengers to a mere 166 runs for 5 wickets in their 20 overs.

On the batting front for UAE, Muhammad Waseem shone brightly, scoring 44 runs off 29 balls, including 2 fours and 3 sixes. Asif Khan made a decisive impression — netting 40 runs off only 28 balls. He displayed his power-hitting prowess by hitting those 4 fours and 2 sixes. Although their displays laid a solid platform, it wasn’t enough to withstand a strong and disciplined Afghanistan bowling attack.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz stole the show on the grass for Afghanistan. He took a brilliant catch of both Rahul Chopra and Alishan Sharafu to underscore the terrific fielding talent of this team. Mohammad Ishaq was Afghanistan’s wicket-keeper. On the other hand, Muhammad Waseem led the UAE in those activities and was their wicket-keeper too.
