Aaron Rodgers Returns to Practice, Eyes Game Against Buffalo Bills

Meanwhile, veteran Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is truly making high-quality progress in his recovery. Though he fractured his left wrist on November 16, his diligence in rehabilitation is clearly showing fruits. Rodgers was a full participant in practice, something he hadn’t done since going down with his injury. This has sparked optimism that he might be ready for their next game against the Buffalo Bills.

Rodgers was absent last week in practice, which included two straight Wednesday practices going into Thanksgiving. He demonstrated marked improvement this week. Wearing a black stabilizer on his injured wrist, he sounded hopeful on Friday about his future re-entry into the game.

“I wasn’t able to go last week, so I’m hoping for a different outcome this week,” said Rodgers during practice. He stressed that more time to recover has been a large factor in his rehabilitation success.

Rodgers mentioned that the past three days have given him more time to focus on rehab and recovery. “I’ve had more days for the callus to form and more healing, especially Monday and Tuesday just doing rehab,” he added.

Head coach Mike Tomlin was optimistic about Rodgers’ availability for Sunday’s game. He indicated that the team is hopeful about the quarterback’s ability to play against the Bills, echoing Rodgers’ sentiments about feeling prepared for a return.

As part of his recovery plan, Rodgers has been focusing on doing more through Thursdays practice. And he’ll see how he feels after practice. Only then will he be able to be in a position to decide as to whether or not to play the game.

Even if you’ve heard the term, at 41 years of age, Rodgers understands the enormous cost sweeping changes can have on the game. He doesn’t believe he requires a doctor’s clearance to take the field this Sunday. His experience and commitment to the game and sportsmanship are still with him, and they continue to help him tackle this injury.

Just like the Steelers, they can’t wait until their MVP quarterback returns to action. It was hard not to feel his absence when the team played the Bears on November 23. Coach Tomlin’s optimism has fans excited. They can’t wait to see if Rodgers will can carry the team’s victory over the Bills.
