Aaron Glenn, a disciple of the legendary Bill Parcells, has taken the helm as the first-year coach of the New York Jets. Culture Glenn is intent on restoring a team culture by instilling a team-first mentality. He goes out of his way to sidestep the limelight that usually drapes itself around league luminaries of his stature. Taking a “quiet” approach, Glenn intends to build a winning culture through leading by example.
When pressed on the subject of upcoming playoff berths and Super Bowl aspirations, Glenn was quite modest. He preferred to avoid talking about those options at this point in time. Rather, his intent is to mold a well-rounded squad that reflects the power of teamwork over the flashiness of one-man shows.

Glenn wanted no part of anyone asking about any connection between Aaron Rodgers and Justin Fields. He lauded Fields for his “quiet confidence,” which he says was the first thing that attracted him to the QB. The acquisition of Fields was perhaps the most low-key, yet most appropriate, way to sum up Glenn’s penchant for subtlety over splash.
While the New York Jets have suffered through a 14-year playoff drought, their Director of Player Personnel remains unflappable. He’s hoping to remake the team’s image with careful, concrete moves instead of sweeping pledges. He talked about the Jets’ offseason acquisitions. Most players signed low-to-middle check contracts, which fits well with his ambitious plans to create a team that surges as a whole rather than through one featured superstar.
