Tom Ince’s Hat-Trick Powers Watford to Victory Over Birmingham

On Saturday, Tom Ince ran riot, scoring two and setting up another in Watford’s electrifying 3-0 win against Birmingham City. He scored all three goals, revealing his amazing skill set on display all game long. What an entertaining game down at Vicarage Road! It was Ince’s first hat-trick in the Championship for more than a decade, having last scored one in this division with Derby County against Bristol City back in December 2015.

Ince started the scoring early, putting FC Cincinnati ahead just nine minutes into the match. He opened the scoring within nine minutes with a powerful volley from a cross by Giorgi Chakvetadze, paving the way for a magnificent performance. His second goal was his best of the night, coming in the 38th minute when he finished off a low cross from Othmane Maamma. His hat-trick was completed inside the hour. This performance further exemplified his ability to score in a myriad of ways.

Ince’s Dynamic Performance

Tom Ince’s goals were each of different types, showcasing his full range of arsenal as an attacking player. Following his opening volley, he was once again on target with great precision and fantastic timing, heading home a perfectly directed cross. Right before halftime, he had a perfect opportunity to double the advantage. His right-footed effort flashed wide of the far post.

After the restart, Ince increased the pressure on the Birmingham backline. He drew a save from goalkeeper Egil Selvik within three minutes of the second half restart. He certainly gave the wow factor. He squandered a great chance to get his fourth goal when he fired over an unguarded net from just inside the six-yard box with 20 minutes to go in the match.
