Raiders to Sit Pro Bowl DE Maxx Crosby for Giants Matchup

The Las Vegas Raiders announced Defensive End Maxx Crosby will be out this Sunday against the Chicago Bears. He’s out due to a knee injury. Crosby has been playing through a persistent injury since the team’s 31-0 defeat against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7. This decision indicates his continued struggles with that exacting injury. With everything he has had to go through, he was still able to show up for every single game until now.

Crosby, named to his fifth straight Pro Bowl, has been the cornerstone of an incredible Raiders season. And while his sack total dipped slightly into single digits, he did record 10 sacks and a career-high 45 total tackles, including 28 tackles for loss. He was unable to practice this week, leading the team to choose to sit him for Sunday’s matchup.

This is the third consecutive Week 17 Raiders matchup that one of their planned starters has been scratched. We have a lot to lose if we don’t act! The winner will lose their hold on the coveted No. 1 pick in the 2026 draft. Other than this ominous draft implication, Crosby didn’t seem too worried about it.
