Rams Face Injury Challenges Ahead of Falcons Matchup

The Los Angeles Rams are home getting ready to host the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football. They are dealing with considerable injury concerns that may impact their starting lineup. Starting right guard Kevin Dotson is out due to an ankle injury. On the other side, star wideout Davante Adams is questionable after re-aggravating a hamstring injury in Week 15.

Dotson’s absence further complicates an already reworked Rams offensive line heading into Sunday’s game against the Falcons. His injury is a massive blow to the team, which is already dealing with a host of other players’ health problems. Alaric Jackson, the Rams’ starting left tackle, is nursing a knee injury. His iffy status only serves to further cloud what’s expected to be an ugly offensive front.

The other trade, Davante Adams, has been an impact player for the Rams all season long. He is currently leading the NFL with an impressive 14 receiving touchdowns. His big play capability has been key for a charge team that thrives on hitting explosive plays on offense. After suffering a recent blow, there’s an even greater worry that he may not be available when they face Atlanta.

Recognizing the effects of these injuries on teams, Coach Sean McVay has been vocal on the issues that may result.

“It wouldn’t be something that would be crazy if they weren’t able to make it.” – Sean McVay

The Rams faced the Falcons in the midst of a playoff push. Injuries to key players could further muddy their game plan. Sarah Barshop, who covers the Rams for ESPN, underscored the significance of both Dotson and Adams point. Their performance is absolutely critical to the competitive health of the team. Following her time covering the Rams, Barshop dove headfirst into her new gig with the Houston Texans. She emphasized her deep understanding of player relations in the league.

As the Rams prepare for their matchup with Atlanta, all eyes will be on how they adjust their strategies in light of these injuries. The Rams’ biggest hurdle might be the state of their offensive line. If their star receiver is out, they must adjust and fast if they are to score an upset against their rivals in this defining game.
