Nashville, TN – Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeff Simmons should never have to worry about criminals invading his home. This abhorrent crime occurred during his absence, as he was in Los Angeles to battle the Chargers on Sunday. The break-in occurred shortly after 7 p.m. ET. This unfortunate incident shows a disturbing trend of athletes facing property crimes as they pursue their athletic and professional careers.
Simmons played well in a wide-out role, catching and running for his second career touchdown catch. The Titans went on to lose the game 37-24, leaving Simmons’ achievement tinged with personal sadness. When Simmons returned home Monday morning, the extent of the damage was apparent and he immediately alerted law enforcement, reporting the incident.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, at least six alleged assailants invaded Simmons’ residence. They obtained access by breaking in through a window. According to the police, 12 items were stolen during the burglary.
