Lamar Jackson Returns to Practice Ahead of Key Matchup Against Steelers

It’s great to see Lamar Jackson back on the practice field. The Baltimore Ravens’ star quarterback and two-time NFL Most Valuable Player Lamar Jackson prepares for a pivotal game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. After missing practice on Thursday due to an ankle injury sustained during Wednesday’s session, Jackson participated fully in Friday’s practice and did not receive any designation on the injury report following the session.

Jackson sustained the injury when a teammate accidentally stepped on his foot during a practice earlier this week. This has sparked some alarm over his availability to play. This will mark the fourth consecutive week Jackson has missed at least one practice with an injury. This difficult period is taking a toll on both his physical and professional lives.

Jackson has had a rough few weeks to say the least. He hasn’t been able to find the end zone in three straight games. This drought represents the longest period of his career without throwing a touchdown pass. His most recent was on November 9 against the Minnesota Vikings. His advanced stats are a testament to this fight. As it stands, he’s 14th in Total QBR at 57.9 and 22nd in passing yards per game with a below-average 204.6 yards per game passing average.

These ongoing hurdles would have derailed many, but Jackson has steadfastly kept his eye on the bottom line. He responded to critics doubting his elusiveness and ability to run between the tackles this year, saying,

“I don’t change up anything. I still just be [myself] at the end of the day, and just do what I’m supposed to do, do my job.”

His answer reveals deep determination to use this challenge as inspiration to keep playing the way he does with even more purpose.

This skewed perspective does an injustice to his prioritization of the success of the team above his own statistics.

“If I’m not scoring a touchdown, but we’re winning, who can be mad at a win?”

As the Ravens look ahead to their week five rematch against the division-rival Steelers, Jackson’s health and performance will be key. The state’s premier rivalry game once again has plentiful playoff implications for both squads as they battle in a tight district race. It’s exciting to see Jackson back on the field again! The Ravens can’t wait to channel his skills as they face off against one of their fiercest rivals.

As the Ravens prepare for their matchup against the Steelers, Jackson’s health and performance will be critical. The rivalry game holds significant implications for both teams as they vie for playoff positioning. With Jackson back on the field, the Ravens are poised to leverage his capabilities as they face one of their most formidable opponents.
