LeBron James Ruled Out for Sunday’s Game Against Pelicans Due to Injury Management

LeBron James, still the 40-year-old forward for the Lakers, has been replaced on the floor. He will miss Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans as he continues to manage a left foot contusion. This marks a significant setback for the Lakers, who are in the midst of a back-to-back series, with a home game against the Phoenix Suns scheduled for Monday.

James has been dealing with sciatica. This nerve damage affects his lower back and spreads down the entire right side of his body. In fact, he lost the first 14 games of this season due to the effects of this condition. Boy, did he return to the lineup in style! Since coming back, he has shown resilience and capability on the court, helping the Lakers achieve a perfect 4-0 record during his appearances.

In the four games since returning from sciatica, James has played. From there, he’s averaged an impressive 16.5 ppg, 8.3 apg, and 5.0 rpg. As he continues to manage his long-standing health concerns, his play has only confirmed his place as one of the league’s best talents. Last season, Wilkins dealt with a left foot injury that ultimately kept him out for half the season as well.

As the Lakers‘ prepare to face the Pelicans on Sunday, James is listed as doubtful with back spasms. The team will need to navigate this ongoing injury situation carefully to ensure that their star player is healthy for the upcoming games. Whatever it is, the Lakers will need to keep that momentum rolling and keep winning as they head deeper into the season.
