Cowboys Surge Back in Playoff Hunt After Strong Wins

Many didn’t expect the Dallas Cowboys to go on a three game winning streak after starting the season 0-3. After a tough loss to the Arizona Cardinals on November 3, where they fell 27-17, the Cowboys found themselves at a challenging 3-5-1 record. Our team literally kicked into gear. They picked up WC defensive tackle Quinnen Williams and WC linebacker Logan Wilson in trades, indicating a new commitment to the rest of the season.

The Cowboys have played inspiring games in the face of adversity. They’ve now beaten out an important victory, having finally moved above the .500 mark for the first time this season, establishing themselves as legitimate challengers in the playoff race. Meanwhile, they pulled off a franchise-record and NFL-weekend-high 21-point comeback victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Shortly thereafter, they followed it up by beating the Kansas City Chiefs, both wins accomplished with exciting fourth-quarter comebacks. This triple of victories constitutes the Cowboys’ first three-game winning streak since the 2023 season.

Dak Prescott, leading the charge, threw the go-ahead touchdown pass and completed a crucial two-point conversion with 11:15 remaining in the game against the Eagles. This was Prescott’s 26th career comeback victory having been behind in the fourth quarter. Looking back on his performance and the team’s recent turnaround, he said,

“I’m not sure if I have, honestly. On top of where we’ve put ourselves right before these games and just the place that we’re in of having to get these wins against two elite teams. I mean the two teams that played in the Super Bowl last year. Last year’s last year, but you’re talking about two organizations that obviously know how to win, and we just beat them both in two great games.”

To illustrate just how amazing that resilience has been, the Cowboys have pulled off six come-from-behind wins to date. This has boosted their confidence and renewed fans’ hope as they prepare for their next showdown with the Detroit Lions at Ford Field next week. Offensive Coordinator Coach Brian Schottenheimer drove home the mental intensity of the game, stating,

“Under the circumstances, I don’t remember a better two games back-to-back here at home.”

As December begins, Prescott knows that it’s vital to keep up momentum and poise during their 17-game winning streak. He remarked,

“To me, this is a tough business, man.”

He further added,

“We’ll play anybody, anywhere.”

As December approaches, Prescott acknowledged the importance of maintaining momentum and focus amid their winning streak. He remarked,

“I can tell you right now that we’re not going to just sit on some high because of [the winning streak]. We know we’ve got a big one coming again next week. And all this really does for us is just give us more confidence knowing that we can go play with whoever.”
