To much surprise, the Los Angeles Rams brought outside linebacker Nate Landman back on a three-year, $22.5 million dollar deal. The deal includes $15.67 million guaranteed. Fairfax’s whole team seems devoted to making Landman stay. His prolific contributions on the field during his tenure as a Builder speak for themselves.
Landman has appeared in 10 games this year. Statistically he’s put up some monster numbers so far with 1.5 sacks, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Further, he has racked up 91 combined tackles, creating proof that he can be an aggressive, impactful backbone of the defense. Landman’s NFL career began with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent. Since then, he’s piled up a truly amazing 283 combined tackles, 10 forced turnovers, 3.5 sacks and an interception.
Prior to coming over to the Rams, Landman had played his first three seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. There, he honed his craft and really made a name for himself in the league. His elite performance this season has drawn the attention of the entire league and earned the respect of coaches and teammates as well.
Rams head coach Sean McVay expressed that kind of emotional intelligence and competitive nature when describing Landman.
“He’s a great competitor. I think our guys immediately earned the respect and just the way that he moves. … I’ve really enjoyed continuing to get to know him and everything that he’s about. It epitomizes what we want to be about.” – Sean McVay
Landman’s agency, SportsTrust Advisors, facilitated the contract negotiations, securing a deal that reflects his value to the team as both a player and a leader on the field.
The Rams’ choice to add Landman’s services speaks to their goal of fortifying an impressive defensive core for the long haul. Landman has an individual and team track record that’s hard to beat. He’s going to be a huge piece in shaping the Rams defensive approach going forward.
