Shedeur Sanders, quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, had a tragic accident on his NFL opening day on November 18, 2025. While he was on the field at Huntington Bank Field facing the Baltimore Ravens, a break-in occurred at his home. The shooting has deepened sensitivities over the safety of high-profile artists and their homes.
As an example, throughout the game, Shedeur Sanders replaced Dillon Gabriel after he was put into the concussion protocol. The Medina County Sheriff’s Office reported that three masked and gloved suspects entered Sanders’ home around 6:46 p.m. ET. Witnesses saw the suspects leave the property about 12 minutes later, loaded down with items owned by Sanders. Our investigation determined that nearly $200,000 in property was taken during such a reckless act.
This break-in marks another disturbing trend of burglaries at the residences of high-profile athletes. Over the past few months, a number of high-profile individuals have experienced these acts. These comprise Luka Doncic, Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, and Travis Kelce. Most recently, the spike in burglaries targeting athletes themselves has raised awareness among local law enforcement. In reaction, they are doubling down to defend Dominion’s employees and residences.
The Medina County Sheriff’s Office has released a statement urging anyone with information about the burglary at Shedeur Sanders’ home to come forward. Their detectives are diving deep into this case and have reached out to the community for help in tracking down the suspects responsible.
