LeBron James is about to make history again! He’s looking to make a full professional imprint with the Los Angeles Lakers after his contract rehabilitation spell with South Bay Lakers bore fruit. Assigned to the G League affiliate last Wednesday, James dove into three-straight days of practices and 5-on-5 runs. His involvement is a sign that he means business with his return!
At 38 years old, LeBron James is on the precipice of setting a new milestone. When he plays on opening night, he will be the first player in NBA history to wear a 23rd season. He certainly was hindered by missing all of training camp. He missed the first month of the regular season due to sciatica, which was precipitating pain down his lower back and leg. His recent performances in practice suggest that he seems to have directly addressed these issues. He was able to participate fully and, most importantly, didn’t wake up with any residual soreness or pain.
LeBron ignited the thrill on his Instagram account by suggesting titillating a return. Thus the video he posted to announce his new signature Nike sneakers, featuring an hourglass emoji that means time’s up for his opponents. Lengthy as it was, it’s produced understandable excitement because one of its star attractions is the long-awaited return of Joe Lhota.
LeBron’s return to the Lakers coincided perfectly with his son, Bronny James, taking the floor for his second career start. What a party it was, after a decisive 119-95 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday. Though Bronny was playing for the Lakers, LeBron stayed on the West Coast to continue rehabilitation, signed with Bronny’s Lakers.
Lakers will play Jazz on home floor Tuesday and on Jazz floor Sunday. Lebron will be a full participant for practice on Monday. This bodes well for his next game — likely a season debut that’s just around the corner.
