Their win was built on an extremely effective bowling attack and key contributions from top order batters. The game played out on the magnificent Adelaide Oval. Cricket fans from all over the world descended there to watch an extraordinary show of power and precision.
Darcie Brown had the ball on a string and was the stand out of South Australia’s bowling attack. Over the course of three overs, she conceded just 20 runs while claiming one crucial wicket, that of Perth’s Beth Mooney, who was caught and bowled for a disappointing zero runs. Brown’s ability to build pressure early in the innings set the tone for the Strikers’ overall bowling strategy.
Megan Schutt thrashed the batters with her knowledge and experience, bowling just two overs and conceding 15 runs. Her relentless bowling attack completely shut down the Scorchers’ path to runs. Amanda-Jade Wellington cemented herself as an outstanding find. She only gave up 4 runs in her two overs, a display of incredible control and precision.
