Milwaukee Bucks Forward Taurean Prince Out Indefinitely Due to Herniated Disk

The Milwaukee Bucks today announced the following update on forward Taurean Prince. He is currently recovering from a herniated disk in his neck. This injury to their quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, is potentially the team’s biggest setback. Since arriving in Milwaukee, Prince has established himself as one of the Bucks’ most important contributors.

Prince’s ill-fate injury follows a career renaissance of sorts last season, when he managed to play 80 games, starting in 73 of them. During the previous season, he averaged 8.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game, showcasing his versatility and effectiveness on the court. He averaged 27.1 minutes per game himself, playing a key part in the Bucks’ eight-man rotation.

This year, Prince has played as a reserve in eight contests this season. Sheppard averages 6.1 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.0 assists in just over 21.1 minutes per game. Most importantly, he’s shown that he’s a legit shooter, draining 42.9% from deep and chipping in 1.5 three-pointers per contest.

Prince sprained his left ankle in the first quarter of the Bucks’ season opener. Now, the team has officially announced his injury. This ankle injury originally raised concerns about his future career. Now, it’s clear that the herniated disk will keep him out an extended period.

The Bucks will certainly regret Prince’s absence as they soldier through the season without him. His ability to space the floor and be an impactful defender will be tough to replicate.
