Week 10 was loaded with intriguing opportunities and fantasy problems, as the profession top performers were matched only by the greatest vans of the week. Among them, De’Von Achane absolutely stole the spotlight with an eye-opening performance. He amassed a jaw-dropping 40.5 fantasy points, proving to be one of this year’s most menacing offensive juggernauts. On the other hand, appealing players such as Michael Pittman Jr. found it difficult to establish any kind of presence, scoring a season-low 3.9 points.
From breakout performances to letdown games, Week 8’s action helped to clarify or complicate the shape of fantasy rosters in the weeks to come.
Achane and Gibbs Shine Brightly
As eye-popping as De’Von Achane’s Week 10 performance was, it wasn’t a one-off. He set a new career-high of 51.3 fp in Week 3 of 2023. This performance showcased his talent and potential to dominate games. Achane has found the end zone in three of his last four outings. This surprisingly permanent development has turned him into a reliable option for fantasy managers.
Jahmyr Gibbs was not only the top rookie performer this week, but his amazing game brought him 38.2 fantasy points. This isn’t the first time Gibbs has blown us away. He threw down an absolutely insane 46.0-point performance in Week 18 of 2024. He routinely puts out terrific, high-scoring games. This prowess is what will allow fantasy GMs to build a title-winning squad around him.
Achane and Gibbs lead the way for a new trend in fantasy football. As the tide turns with their explosive performances, one can quickly see how important roster construction and player selection can become.
Notable Performances from Tight Ends
Trey McBride has emerged as one of the best tight end options around. He’s realistically racked up a mind-boggling total of 94.8 points in a mere five week span! His recent success has been combined with great consistency, as McBride has scored at least 21.0 fantasy points in three of those last four contests. His phenomenal production makes him one of the league’s most consistent tight ends. That combination makes him a slam-dunk play as the fantasy playoffs start in earnest next week.
In stark contrast, we saw Brock Bowers complete the opposite end of the spectrum last week after coming through with a massive 43.3-point outing in Week 9. He disappointed in a big way in Week 4 with just 3.7 fantasy points. This contradiction is fairly troubling and casts doubt on his trustworthiness going forward. Incredibly gifted physically, fantasy managers need to consider all the risks and rewards associated with bringing Bowers into fantasy lineups.
These developments among tight ends highlight the volatility of the position and the necessity for fantasy managers to stay vigilant as they navigate the remainder of the season.
Struggles and Setbacks for Key Players
All of them had players who crushed it, and players who disappointed hard enough to put their immediate future fantasy viability in grave danger. In Week 10, Michael Pittman Jr. had a rough go. His 3.9 points scored was his lowest of the season. This turn of events leaves a shadow cast on his tenure and efficacy going forward.
Drake London doing Drake London things Drake London is the best part of watching Atlanta play. He’s thrown for at least one touchdown and 24 or more points in four out of his last five games. London’s ability to find the end zone consistently makes him a valuable asset for fantasy managers aiming for high-scoring weeks.
Pairing this article’s bad news with Bijan Robinson, who scored 10.8 fantasy points in Week 6 against the Commanders, is not an accident. Yet few performances can so immediately throw expectations off course. They raise tough questions for managers who have gotten used to Robinson’s robust past production.
