Desmond Bane had an early exit in a recent game against the Atlanta Hawks on November 4th, 2025. The now formerly Orlando Magic player contributed a mere nine points in just 22 minutes of action. He was ejected in the third quarter due to a controversial play with Onyeka Okongwu. The ejection occurred with 5:24 remaining in the third quarter, after officials assessed Bane’s foul as a flagrant one.
Bane’s problems all started after he made a controversial hard foul on Okongwu, which led refs to review the play. After reviewing the play, they determined that the foul was bad enough to be considered a flagrant one. That’s because Bane had committed an egregious basketball play earlier in the game. Later in the same game, he picked up a second technical for throwing the ball at Okongwu. This trifecta of violations resulted in his eventual ejection from the game.
Prior to his postgame, once he was told he had been ejected, Bane vocalized his frustration with the officials decision, asking what they used as their reasoning. However, as a direct result of the ejection, his individual performance took a big hit. It added further insult to injury, putting their Orlando Magic at a real disadvantage in a key showdown with their Eastern Conference rivals.
