Aramco Championship Set to Elevate Women’s Golf with LPGA and LET Co-Sanctioning

Looking forward to the Aramco Championship with you! From April 2-5, 2026 it will be front and center at the renowned Shadow Creek Golf Course in exotic Las Vegas. This signing comes ahead of this event, the second of five tournaments in 2026 constituting the 2026 PIF Global Series. It’s got a staggering $4 million purse! This championship is jointly sanctioned by the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) and the Ladies European Tour (LET). It’s on track to become one of the most closely watched developments by the world’s golfing community.

The Aramco Championship will field 120 players – LPGA stars and rising LET talents. This policy-focused convening builds on the long, fruitful legacy of the Aramco series. It signals a tactical move to diversify the international calendar in women’s golf. This will be the fourth co-sanctioned event between the LPGA and LET. Their past joint efforts have effectively spread the sport around the globe.

This championship has one of the best legacies in this great state. Originally known as the Saudi Ladies Team International, it brought the team format to women’s cycling in 2020. Every year, the symposium is hosted by a different research consortia located in the U.S., kicking off with Glen Oaks in New York in 2021. It goes to countries like Spain, Thailand, Singapore, and Hong Kong. The Public Investment Fund (PIF) took over the series and rebranded it this year, boosting the prize money and making it more attractive to riders.

LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler was well aware that this would be a controversial event. To hear him tell it, he has no doubt of the deep commitment from the LPGA and LET boards.

“I’ve been blown away by the support from the LPGA and LET boards.” – Craig Kessler

He mentioned that the feeling in the atmosphere surrounding the event was extremely positive.

“The overwhelming sentiment was, ‘What took so long?’” – Craig Kessler

Kessler emphasized that this championship reflects the direction in which they are headed regarding the global schedule for women’s golf.

“It reflects exactly where we’re headed in building the global schedule for our tour.” – Craig Kessler

The championship will count toward the LPGA’s official money list and its Race to CME Globe, further solidifying its importance within the professional circuit.

Marta Figueras-Dotti, former president of the Ladies Professional Golf Association and a pioneer in women’s golf, praised the continued partnership with Golf Saudi dating back to 2020. She noted that welcoming the LPGA to Shadow Creek signifies substantial progress in enhancing the global platform for women’s golf.

“We’ve had a strong relationship with Golf Saudi since 2020, and this next chapter – welcoming the LPGA to join us at Shadow Creek – highlights how far we’ve come in strengthening the global platform for women’s golf,” – Marta Figueras-Dotti

Yasir Al-Rumayyan, the governor of PIF, is clearly committed to building momentum in women’s golf. He underscored PIF’s excellent track record of bolstering this critical transformation.

“Women’s golf continues to go from strength-to-strength and PIF has a strong track record of backing that growth and investing in the future of the women’s game,” – Yasir Al-Rumayyan

The Aramco Championship will be historic for being the first American golf event to feature just female golfers. Beyond that, it will increase awareness and generate new opportunities across women’s sports.
