With all LIV Golf tournaments starting on Thursdays from now on, the biggest difference was the lack of conformity.
In July 2025, LIV Golf applied for recognition from the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), an important step for its golfers seeking pathways to major championships. Sadly, this application was rejected in October 2023, forcing the league to reconsider its tournament format and competitive structure.
