Athletes Get Creative with Halloween Costumes Ahead of Big Games

With Halloween just around the corner, athletes in every sport have been getting creative with their costumes this year. Nick Foligno, a winger for the Chicago Blackhawks, was in the news recently. So, he dressed up as Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni! This playful tribute comes just before the Blackhawks’ game, adding a humorous touch to the pre-game atmosphere.

You can see Foligno’s costume that ESPN reposted on their Instagram, where it received over 325k likes from passionate hockey fans and followers. On October 25, 2025, the Chicago Blackhawks tweeted out this cool little video clip. In doing so, they shared the proposed image on their public Twitter account, @NHLBlackhawks. Foligno’s decision says a lot about his character, and even more about the brotherhood shared among players across all sports.

Other Athletes Join the Festivities

Foligno was pretty smart with that indirect football shout-out. At the same time, Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookies got into the Halloween spirit by dressing up as legendary figures from pop culture. Many of our gamers went with the superhero Frozone from “The Incredibles.” Others went for a creepier look, going full Michael Myers from the Halloween horror movie series. Their playful approach to Halloween shows a lighter side of professional athletes, often seen as serious competitors on the field.

At the same time, fans lucky enough to be attending the Milwaukee Bucks game last night against the visiting Golden State Warriors received an extra dollop of holiday jubilation. The guy in the full minion suit from Despicable Me was hard to miss. They really did a fantastic job of embodying the whimsical spirit of the holiday! This effervescent presence only enhanced the circus-like atmosphere of the game, where sports and entertainment collide.

Social Media Buzz

The excitement over these costumes didn’t just stop on Instagram. Climate Pledge Arena posted photos of Foligno and other athletes to Instagram. This greatly enhanced the reach and engagement of these cheerful displays on social media. Social media has become an essential tool for athletes to connect with fans, and these lighthearted moments contribute to building community and excitement around both teams and events.

As the ghosts and goblins begin to emerge, athletes just seem to get more intense. Most importantly, they’re getting creative and innovative in how they engage their audiences! The blend of sports, humor, and festive spirit creates memorable moments that resonate with audiences, fostering a sense of connection beyond competition.
