LeBron James, the noted Basketball and Me memoirist, is preparing for his fourth installment. His latest children’s book is going to change all that—in Happy Spooky Halloween, out on July 21. This thrilling page-turner will be published by HarperCollins. It represents a major achievement for James, who has long viewed writing children’s books as a bucket list item.
Happy Spooky Halloween, a spinoff on YouTube, follows a young character named Zara and her friends on an action-packed day, centered around a Halloween party thrown by the big kids at the made-up Hickory Elementary. The book’s themes are cooperation, imagination, and the fun of celebrating Halloween. It embodies the wonder and magic of the holidays that is important to James.
LeBron James has previously authored three children’s books: “I Promise,” “We Are Family,” and “I Am More Than.” His picture book debut, I Promise, made history with incredible success as a No. 1 New York Times bestseller. James primarily wants to hook young readers with his appealing tale, “Happy Spooky Halloween.” The vibrant illustrations by Ariel Landy really add to the story, making for a beautifully engaging read. The book, 32 pages of beautifully colored illustrations, transports children to a different time and place for an engaging, creative experience.
To illustrate his zeal for the endeavor, James related a personal affinity for the holiday, “You guys know how much I love Halloween and this one’s going to be special,” he stated. James is fond of getting into the Halloween spirit. He frequently dons a costume to celebrate with students, so this book is especially personal to him.
James made the announcement of “Happy Spooky Halloween” with an energetic TickTock video. In that video, he showed some really cool features that are going to be included in the upcoming release. He concluded his message with a festive cheer, saying, “So happy spooky Halloween … to everyone.”
