Kevin Porter Jr Out for Bucks’ Upcoming Road Trip Due to Ankle Injury

Kevin Porter Jr. will not travel with the Milwaukee Bucks on their two-game road trip starting tomorrow. He’s out due to a left ankle sprain. On Thursday, team orthopedic surgeon Carole Vetter evaluated the injury after conducting an MRI. Her evaluation corroborated the original diagnosis.

Porter, 25, suffered the injury while the Bucks continued their stellar play with an exciting 133-120 win over the Toronto Raptors. He’d exploded for 10 points already when he exited the game late in the first quarter. His team will miss their 6-foot-5 floor general. Boy has he done that since joining them around the 2022 trade deadline.

In his tenure with the Bucks, Porter averaged 11.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.7 assists over 30 games last season. His performance has extended far beyond that rookie contract—it’s changed the trajectory of his entire team. This season with the LA Clippers, he averaged 9.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in 45 games.

The Bucks take on the Toronto Raptors Friday night. After that, they’ll face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday, but Porter won’t be available for either matchup. Our medical staff will continue to watch over his long-term rehabilitation. He just wants to get back into top condition and back out beside his fellow Wolfpackers on the hardwood.
