Jalen Suggs, the Orlando Magic’s dynamic young point guard, eagerly awaiting his opportunity to do so. He’ll be making his return on Wednesday for the team’s season opener against the Miami Heat. Suggs battled injuries all last season. Now, the forward will be an important new piece as the Magic look to get out on top in their home opener.
Last season, Suggs struggled mightily, appearing in just 35 games while dealing with multiple maladies. In March, he underwent arthroscopic surgery to remove a cartilage fragment from his left knee. This invasive surgery would land him on the bench for even longer. He’s passed every test with flying colors and has taken part in the team’s shootaround, coming away from the workout saying that he felt good.
Suggs is on his way back, and the Magic could not be more excited. Seeing how well he played before the injury, they’re looking for a huge return from him. In the most recent full season he played, he averaged 16.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. His work on both sides of the court has been an integral part to the Knicks’ new found chemistry.
Head coach Jamahl Mosley was excited about Suggs’ return, showing the positive effect he has on the team.

Mosley further emphasized Suggs’ unique skills, stating, “Obviously, the things he does for us on the court are just at a different level.” This mood further emphasizes the key role Suggs plays in any future Magic plan and success—win-loss or otherwise.
