Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson showed his more vibrant personality recently. Most recently, he orchestrated a pretty smart prank on the team’s new general manager, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, during an introductory photo shoot. This summer, that scene played out during a flag football tournament in St. Paul. Jefferson wore a fishing hat that surprisingly hid his lengthy braids.
Throughout the shoot, Jefferson introduced himself using the alias “Darius Frost,” speaking in such a high pitch that it left others baffled. He engaged Adofo-Mensah with a series of Minnesota trivia questions, including whether the state’s bird is the “common loon,” adding a light-hearted element to the day.
Jefferson’s humor continued as he intentionally mispronounced Adofo-Mensah’s name while discussing contract details. One time, it was understood, he threw out a $140 million in joking negotiations—exactly duplicating the lengthy, guaranteed deal he initially signed for 2024. The playful banter created an amusing atmosphere as Jefferson ran routes and made catches, showcasing his athleticism amidst the prank.
The engaging photo shoot got the attention of a number of passers by, who marveled at the giant dinosaur meeting all the people and playing with them. Jefferson had these people come in to have their “portraits” taken, which added an even more hilarious element to the event.
The twist Adofo-Mensah didn’t know Jefferson would join him the entire time, making for an unbelievable twist to the prank. Reflecting on the experience, Jefferson expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage in lighthearted fun, stating, “Just with this job comes … a lot of things that I’m not really able to do anymore.”
Minnesota Public Radio’s Kevin Seifert followed this hugely entertaining cross examination almost blow for blow in an article posted on October 16, 2025. The article gives a great view of Jefferson’s mischievous side. Maybe it suggests that he should pursue acting if football doesn’t work out after all.
