Grant Stewart Secures Two-Year Contract Extension with Kent Cricket

Kent Cricket has unveiled some thrilling news! All-rounder Grant Stewart signed a new two-year contract extension, ensuring he remains at the club until at least 2027. The 31-year-old right-arm fast bowler has been a central figure in the Kent attack. He made the switch from the Second XI almost a decade ago in 2017, after impressing in the semi-pro ranks.

Stewart has had a remarkable impact during his short time with the club, finishing with 179 appearances for Kent. He has amassed a staggering 3,296 runs. Moreover, he has scored 216 wickets and proved himself both as best batsman and best bowler. He had a phenomenal 2023 season. Over the course of the T20 Blast, he participated in a Kent record, taking 24 wickets combined in the T20 Blast to break the record.

This season was marked with Stewart stepping up as a leader, with the fullback captaining the team on three occasions. Looking back on his journey, he couldn’t be happier with the work he has done and the legacy of memories he has built at Kent.

Still recently given a contract extension, Stewart will look to keep his run rate high and keep his wicket rate higher. His excitement about the prospect of home growing younger players through the SAFC system and having them available to TC in two years is palpable.
