Jaxson Dart was having the sort of game he’ll want to forget, riddled with turnovers. Instead, the New York Giants fell to the New Orleans Saints 26-14. Despite a promising first half that included two touchdown passes to tight end Theo Johnson, Dart’s mistakes in the second half ultimately sealed the Giants’ fate.
Dart, who was making just his second start against the Saints, proved he’s got plenty of potential early on. He found Johnson for a 15-yard touchdown reception—his and Johnson’s second scoring hook-up of the game. At halftime, Dart was 26 for 40 passing for 202 yards and the two TDs.
The tide turned dramatically after halftime. Just as the Giants marched to around midfield to start a promising drive, Dart coughed up a fumble. This unforced error led to a disastrous cascade of blunders for the team. Overall, he accounted for three turnovers in the second half, including two interceptions on a last-ditch comeback effort.
