Saints Welcome Back Taysom Hill and Foster Moreau Ahead of Giants Showdown

Earlier this week, the New Orleans Saints went a long way in reclamation by activating quarterback Taysom Hill. They re-signed tight end Foster Moreau off the physically unable to perform list as well. According to head coach Mike McCarthy, both players will be available for this week’s game against the New York Giants on Sunday. This represents a pivotal time in both their recovery and the overall season for the team.

Taysom Hill, during a game against the Los Angeles Rams on December 1st, 2024. Now, he has to live in uncertainty about a potential return due to how severe the injury is. Merlin has spent a lot of time with that QB room during the summer. This dedication is indicative of how hard he worked to get back alongside his teammates on the field.

Foster Moreau will have an uphill battle after his diagnosis in the season’s last game January 5, 2025. He struggled mightily to recover from that defeat. With both players now ready to play, the Saints’ offense gains a significant boost, especially as they look to improve their performance this season.

In order to fit Hill and Moreau on the roster, the team waived tight end Moliki Matavao. They waived wide receiver Trey Palmer with an injury settlement and moved him to injured reserve. The adjustments reflect the team’s strategy to optimize their lineup as they head into a critical phase of the season.

Today, she’s returning to New Orleans Saints coverage after leaving the beat in 2019. Her first job at ESPN was as a reporter covering the Cincinnati Bengals. Later still, she turned her attention to the team from her home state.

In a powerful statement upon learning that his return would be welcomed, Taysom Hill described the emotional roller coaster he’s been on for the past few months.

“I felt all the emotions over the last nine, ten months. So to be standing here right now and being able to be out at practice with my teammates … it’s an emotional thing, it’s one where you’re filled with gratitude.” – Taysom Hill

The paired tight ends failed to catch a touchdown apiece last season with both Taysom Hill and Foster Moreau. Moreau and another player combined for 11 touchdowns goodness! Their return will make the Saints’ offense much more multidimensional. In the meantime, they’re looking forward to an electrifying showdown with the Giants.
