With the NBA season tip-off just around the corner, players and fantasy basketball fans alike are targeting the best draft plans to yield the most successful teams. There are a number of other players generating buzz due to their ADP and performance trends. Curious names in the pool include Joel Embiid, Kawhi Leonard, and LaMelo Ball. Each has interesting situations that could really affect how much they’re worth in future drafts.
Joel Embiid, franchise anchor for the Philadelphia 76ers, is in trouble with an ADP of 56.6. Unfortunately, his recent history hasn’t given many potential drafters the warm and fuzzies. Embiid played in just 19 games last season because of his own injuries, leading to concerns about his dependability. Experts predict that his ADP will rise in October as he navigates recovery and prepares for a new season.
LaMelo Ball is a whole other kettle of fish in that his challenges lie elsewhere. Despite this, he’s shown an elite level of scoring touch. Logging just 105 games the past three years is troubling for fantasy managers. He usually falls to the third or fourth round. This is a testament to the remarkable productivity, but to the worrisome state of Mr. McCullough’s health and availability.
Kawhi Leonard’s situation doesn’t help matters Kawhi is a big wrench in the fantasy/DFS gears. Even though he might be on the LA Clippers, his ADP is much too high with the amount of production he’s putting out. Leonard has never been able to surpass 68 games played in a season and has constantly battled the difficulty of staying on the court. Paul George 16.2 PPG But right now, due to the fact that he’s recovering from summer knee surgery, that makes what you could expect from him very much an open question.
Zion Williamson deserves a mention here as his ADP is 35.3. He hasn’t gone over 70 games played in a season two years ago, including an incomplete season. Each season, he barely played more than half a season, just 30 games more than the typical player. His utter irrelevance as a rebounder or shot blocker makes him hard to justify in fantasy leagues.
Another player causing concern is James Morant. In fact his numbers at the plate have plummeted this season. That makes you question if his current ADP is too rich with concerns regarding his durability and production rightfully raised. Young players such as Deni Avdija continued promising for long-term success. He outscored Christian Braun last season and has a higher ceiling for value to be gained.
Myles Turner and Jalen Duren are due to be drafted much earlier than average at the five spot. This recent development opens up a wealth of exciting opportunities for wise drafters! Meanwhile, Ivica Zubac excelled last season, leading the NBA in total rebounds, positioning him as a valuable asset for those seeking rebounding strength.
Klay Thompson’s recent performance deserves mention. Though the veteran guard had the most difficult season of his career since his rookie season […] could play a large role in where he lands in this draft class.
As teams finalize their rosters and prepare for the upcoming NBA season, understanding the intricacies of each player’s current situation will be critical for fantasy basketball success.
