A.J. Brown Addresses Frustrations Following Eagles Victory Over Buccaneers

A.J. Brown, wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, played a key role in his team’s 31-25 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but his performance has sparked conversation about his recent frustrations. In that one, Brown had one of his worst performances, as he only managed two catches for 7 yards on nine targets in the game. This performance brings his season totals to 14/151/1 on 28 targets. Still, 10.8 yards per reception this season is a far cry from his career average of 15.6 yards per catch.

After the game, Brown owned up for failing to keep his frustrations from coming out in public. He made sure to clarify that his social media post was not an attack on any members of the Eagles organization. This applies to all, including quarterback Jalen Hurts. Instead, Brown said he’s looking forward to better communication with Hurts in the next few meetings to get their on-field chemistry working better.

“I love it here. You just see frustration because we want to be great and most definitely, I want to be great as well,” Brown stated, indicating his commitment to the team despite recent challenges. He further stated that he wanted to talk to them about their bond at practice, to have a different outcome during games moving forward.

The Eagles currently rank 31st in passing yards, averaging just 138 yards per game, which has led to heightened scrutiny of their receiving corps. Brown’s frustrations aren’t just about his lack of targets, he clearly wants the team to succeed. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with wanting the ball,” he remarked. To those who felt that he was making too big a fuss about his situation, he ruled.

Brown’s relationship with Hurts remains solid. Their friendship began years before they finally met in-person in Philadelphia. Hurts even actively recruited Brown to come with him to Alabama. Hurts acknowledged their bond, stating, “We share a great passion for this game, and we’re focused on this week.”

Despite the recent enmity and misconceptions, Brown remains resolute in his commitment to the Eagles. That’s because he really cares about how the role fits within the overall team structure. Anderson declined to speak with the media immediately after the game. A few days later, he had to walk back the message he was sending with his social media posts.

“If you’re not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw. Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way.” – A.J. Brown

Brown’s intention is clear: he wants to contribute positively and help turn around the Eagles’ passing game as they look ahead to their next matchup.
