Tyreek Hill’s Surgery Successful, Set to Return Next Season

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill so far has had successful surgery. This procedure was in response to a major PCL injury he sustained in a recent game against the Utah Jazz. His agent, the ubiquitous Drew Rosenhaus, announced fantastic news. Hill’s immediate future is brighter after his Friday surgery to repair his dislocated left knee and several torn ligaments, including his ACL.

Hill sustained the season-ending injury in the Dolphins’ 27-21 win over the New York Jets. After the injury sustained during the match, he was immediately taken to a hospital in the area for further treatment.

Rosenhaus reported to ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Hill’s surgery “went very well according to his doctors.” He further detailed that there were no complications from the surgery: “There is no nerve damage, no blood flow issues, no broken bones, the knee cartilage is fine.”

As Hill starts going through his rehabilitation process, Rosenhaus wanted to make it clear that Hill’s priority will be healing. “It’s about rehab, and he will play next season,” he stated. He mentioned that the “realistic goal is the start of the season,” indicating optimism regarding Hill’s return to the field.

Since arriving in Miami in 2022, Hill has established himself as one of the league’s most valuable players. In fact, only Justin Jefferson has gained more receiving yards than Hill over that span. On a larger scale, his performance has only furthered his case as one of the league’s top receivers.

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel acknowledged the challenges of dealing with injuries in professional football. He noted, “It’s a challenge that it doesn’t matter how difficult it is, no one [outside the building] really cares.” McDaniel highlighted the need for continuous improvement among all teams to maintain success in the league by stating, “You have to find a way to get yourself to continue to get better, like all teams, for you to stay in the win column.”
