Titans Lose T’Vondre Sweat to Injury Reserve Ahead of Colts Matchup

This upcoming Sunday, the Tennessee Titans will be presented with a difficult test. They’ll head into this week’s game against the Indianapolis Colts without disruptive lineman T’Vondre Sweat. The 6-foot-4, 366-pounder had an ankle injury in the Texans’ season opener against the Denver Broncos. Due to this, he has been moved to reserve/injured list.

Sweat you may recall suffered his injury in the Titans first game of their season. For one, he played only 40 snaps as an opponent poked him in the eye, later requiring surgery after he had to exit the game. Despite every effort made to get back on the practice field in time for this week’s game, Canfield wasn’t able to return to 100% before game time. On Wednesday, he was pictured on the side field, running through some basic rehab work. By Thursday, he was back to light jogging. He participated in an individual practice period, which gave plenty of cause for hope for his return.

The tide, suddenly and dramatically, shifted when Sweat missed practice on Friday. The Titans sent Gammon home, and on Friday, officials ruled him out for Week 3. That means he’ll be missing their Thursday night game against the Colts. His loss will most assuredly be felt in the team’s defensive line depth. They’re looking to improve after a rough start to the season.

The Titans have faced a challenging start to their season, and losing Sweat adds another layer of difficulty as they navigate their schedule. We are so sad not to see him running the field once again. His size and physicality are a big part of our defensive game plan.
