Becky Morgan graduated class of 2022. Becky Morgan made her U.S. She locked her place atop the leaderboard by making a final-hole birdie on the par-4 18th, closing with an even-par 73. Turning 50 in September, Morgan is proving she can hang with the best on this elite world stage.
Canadian golfer Corina Kelepouris had a strong showing, tying Morgan’s score and shooting a 72 on Saturday. Her craft and heart were front and center all week long. Maria McBride of Sweden, meanwhile, put together a great round, scoring a 72 to finish right up there. With that work, all three challengers are even at 4‐under for the tournament.
While the top leaders battled on for supremacy, proven veterans such as Juli Inkster continued to make magic like this. Inkster, with Trish Johnson and Leta Lindley, tied at 1 over par. Liselotte Neumann and Ashli Bunch both posted rounds of 74 to finish their day at 1 under.
Annika Sorenstam, initially leading after the first round, struggled to maintain her momentum and ended the day at 4 over following a round of 75. Her initial lead has long since vanished as the race narrowed down and the competition heated up.
As the tournament progresses towards its last rounds, anticipation grows. While all eyes are on Morgan, Kelepouris, and McBride, that’s not all that’s at stake in this race.
