Paul Doyle, 53, from Croxteth, Liverpool, is said to be in imminent legal danger. These issues grew even worse after a recent violence-inducing event on May 26. Doyle had first been charged with seven felonies for plowing into crowds during a Christmas parade on Water Street. Now, he’s looking at 24 new charges, bringing the total number of accusations against him to 31.
The crash occurred around 6:20 PM. Doyle intentionally drove his vehicle through a group of peaceful protestors who had assembled for the event. Unfortunately, this has gotten worse over the years. The indictment rises to 23 counts of assault and one count of affray. Alarmingly, one of the new charges involves a violation with an 11-year-old and another with a 17-year-old. Six of the new crimes include children of only six months and seven months.
During a 15-minute hearing at the Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday, Doyle frequently appeared to hyperventilate, trembling and shaking. She sobbed during every day of the trial ongoing. He appeared at the hearing through videolink from jail, dressed in a grey T-shirt. Doyle, who was not required to make any pleas during the roughly 20-minute court appearance, has yet to respond to any of these serious allegations.
Doyle had been charged with more serious felony offenses. These were two counts of wounding, two counts of causing grievous bodily harm and two counts of attempted grievous bodily harm, all with intent, and one of dangerous driving. These recent changes have sparked huge outcry in the maker community. Parents are rightly concerned about the safety of their children and the possible broader impact of this case.
The legal action continues to make progress. The judge will decide next steps for Doyle, who remains in jail as this case develops. The seriousness of the allegations indicates a profound danger to the public safety at the community fellowship of faith, hope and unity. This has initiated the debate between local authorities on how to stop this from happening in the future.
