Running back Matt Breida has confirmed it as well. After seven seasons in the National Football League (NFL), he is officially retiring from professional football. At 30, Breida retires, but not before leaving behind an impressive legacy full of success and impacts on several different NFL franchises.
Over the course of his career, Breida racked up 2,652 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns. After all the speculation, he finally began his journey as the starting quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers. There, he kept his reputation blossoming through his best year in 2018. That year, Breida rushed for a whopping 1,075 yards. He made it to the end zone five times during the regular season and appeared in 14 games, with 13 of those as a starter.
Following his stint with the 49ers, Breida signed with the Miami Dolphins. He went on to play for the Buffalo Bills and most recently signed with the New York Giants. All told, that worked out to just 98 games played during his seven-year MLB career. His versatility and skill as an all-around running back were on full display through his lofty rushing statistics. He displayed elite receiving talent. Breida finished with 120 career receptions for 935 yards, and he added six career touchdown catches.
