USGA Extends Partnership with NBCUniversal for U.S. Open Coverage

The United States Golf Association (USGA) has announced a new agreement with NBCUniversal to provide extensive coverage of the U.S. Open and the U.S. Senior Open through 2032. This new collaboration further extends the dynamic and creative partnership between the USGA and NBC. Golf aficionados can’t miss extensive, live primetime coverage of all four of these major championships.

NBC will air a minimum of 25 hours of coverage for the U.S. Open, which is included in this agreement. Moreover, audiences can expect an additional hour of prime-time coverage during the week. Fans can expect an outstanding 48 hours of coverage leading up to the U.S. Open tournament. Showcasing the many fascinating stories covering the sport’s depth, this rich content will heighten the experience for everyday fans and diehards alike.

We’re excited to continue working with the USGA, and we welcome today’s announcement of this groundbreaking new renewal — the longest-ever such partnership. NBCUniversal has a long-standing commitment to offering robust, diverse coverage of the U.S. Open. In addition, they will produce a special 6-hour live broadcast for the U.S. Senior Open, totaling 18 hours of live coverage for that event. This increase in programming is designed to highlight the energy, talent and allure of these events.

In an effort to cater to broader audiences, NBCUniversal will provide 33 hours of coverage during the U.S. Open when it takes place on the West Coast. This new programming is tailored to fit different viewers’ schedules and ensure you make the most of these capstone events.

The partnership underscores NBC’s leadership role in bringing audiences the world’s biggest and best golf events. Of course, that includes the highly coveted U.S. Open and the U.S. Senior Open. The decision to include weekday prime-time coverage reflects a strategic move to attract more viewers during peak television hours, potentially increasing interest in golf among a wider audience.

Golf is one of the fastest growing sports. This long-term extension of the USGA’s relationship with NBCUniversal confirms their mutual dedication to providing the best possible coverage that enhances fan experience and showcases the sport’s rich tradition.
