ESPN has announced the premiere of “The Kingdom, The Last Dance,” an original series that chronicles the Kansas City Chiefs’ remarkable journey to the 2025 Super Bowl. The new series will premiere on Thursday, August 14, at 9 p.m. ET. In it, we will showcase the playmaking and team building machinations of major protagonists such as Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, as they approach the ever harsher realities of a cutthroat NFL environment.
The Last Dance
That six-episode run packed a wallop. In every single episode, they dive into various aspects of the franchise’s storied history and impact on the game of football. The series captures the story of how and why the Chiefs have transformed the NHL into a “global-ized” phenomenon, becoming one of the league’s powerhouse global ambassadors. The first episode, “Family Business” will premiere that day at 10 p.m. That will be closely followed by our second episode, “Don’t Judge.”
Look for the next episodes to focus on other key moments along the Chiefs’ path. Episode 3, “In Our Chiefs Era,” debuts next Tuesday, August 19, at 9 p.m. Immediately following, don’t miss Episode 4, “The Formula,” at 10 p.m. We’re looking forward to continuing the series this Wednesday, August 20! Watch Episode 5, “Heartland,” at 9 p.m., followed by Episode 6, “The Pursuit,” at 10 p.m.
Fans will be able to continue the journey with all six episodes streaming on ESPN+ after the television premiere as well. The series aims to provide an in-depth look at not only the players but at head coach Andy Reid and the entire Kansas City Chiefs organization. It intends to provide as real an inside look as possible into what it really takes to earn a living playing the game to the highest level.
