Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Denzel Perryman was arrested Friday night in Los Angeles County on a felony weapons charge. According to public records, the arrest took place at 9:41 p.m., and he was subsequently booked at 10:06 p.m. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that the arrest followed a traffic stop conducted on Perryman’s vehicle.
Under the state’s vehicle seizure program, deputies found five firearms in Perryman’s vehicle, two of which were assault-style rifles. These are precisely the circumstances that the Sheriff’s Department has described in the traffic stop. They claimed it was started due to vehicle code violations.
Perryman, 32, is back with the Chargers for a second stint. He’s back now, having rejoined the team just prior to the 2024 season kicking off. His agent, Ron Butler, has been in contact with ESPN about the matter. He committed that Perryman and his team are already working to collect more information. They’re in constant touch with legal counsel as well.

Butler further sought to added reassurance on how the legal proceedings would be handled, suggesting faith in a suitable resolution.

As of now, there has been limited information released regarding any potential consequences or next steps for Perryman following this incident. Kris, a former in-house reporter for the Los Angeles Chargers, made sure to let on that he was not personally responsible for the arrest.
