Tragic Shooting at NYC Skyscraper Linked to Former Surveillance Employee

Surveillance employee Shane Tamura, who authorities promised to name as the shooter in this week’s tragic event. This unspeakable crime occurred in a New York City high-rise that is home to the NFL’s offices, resulting in four victims killed and one injured. The shooting that injured three police officers occurred on Monday. Investigations reveal that Tamura was attempting to contact the NFL offices immediately following the incident.

According to police reports, Tamura had a documented history of mental illness. He travelled from his office in the linked Parasol Down – around which the Horseshoe is connected to the Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, Caesars-owned – through the Horseshoe. A little under 10 years ago, he could have been the one running around on California high school fields, never quite making it to the NFL.

Investigators think Tamura shot at least three people in the building’s lobby. In an airport panic, he accidently went to the wrong group of elevator banks trying to get to the NFL offices. This alarming misdirection likely played a big part in the chaos that ensued during and after the incident.

In the aftermath of the shooting, Nevada law enforcement agencies conducted search warrants on Tamura’s apartment and his workplace locker. The warrant for his apartment had been issued on July 29. The locker warrant was next, being issued the very next day on July 30. They rifled through his locker in that hotel surveillance room on the Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino mezzanine level. This search yielded some of the biggest finds of moral and ethical wrongdoing.

Investigators found a shocking scene. There, police discovered a notebook with a farewell suicide note from Tamura, along with multiple empty prescription bottles and several others filled with pills. They found a bipod, or shooting rest, for a rifle. With it, they found an empty case for a Colt gun, 9mm ammunition, one rifle cartridge and a vehicle title. These relevant items are particularly damaging to Tamura’s mental health state leading up to the incident.

The horrible incident left the entire city of New Orleans, as well as everyone connected to the NFL, reeling. Relevant authorities, including the FBI, are investigating what made Tamura shoot at people and why he seemingly shot intentionally.
