Tyrese Haliburton Reflects on Injury and Playoff Journey

Tyrese Haliburton, the 25-year-old point guard for the Indiana Pacers, shared an emotional statement on social media Monday night, expressing his feelings following a devastating injury that has sidelined him for the upcoming 2025-26 season. The now LA Lakers player shared his disbelief about the situation in an Instagram post, writing, “Don’t know how to even begin to explain it other than shocked. And those words carry weight not only to his teammates, but to his fans. They represent the trials and tribulations encountered along the way to an amazing playoff run.

Haliburton, who injured himself in Game 7 vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder, has a sprained right wrist. The stunning blow dealt the fourth-seeded Pacers ended a historic run for them. After aggravating a calf strain in Game 5, he courageously played through the pain in Game 6. During an attempted drive to the basket in Game 7, he crumpled to the floor with 4:55 remaining in the opening quarter. This disappointing turn of events provided Haliburton a greater personal boost.
