Premier League Broadcast Changes and Player Transfer Rumors Heat Up

Sky Sports will triple its Premier League match preview and post-match analysis from 2025-26, with a total of 900 hours a year dedicated to its coverage. The sports network will broadcast 215 games a year, compared to the significantly lower 128 matches being played today. The result of this move is that Sky Sports will be showing around 80% of all televised Premier League matches next season. This acquisition further cements Sky Sports’ stranglehold on the UK sports broadcasting landscape.

With a new season fast approaching, transfer rumors are flying around plenty of players including Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko. Manchester United are very much in the market testing their feelers massively active up front looking for Gyokeres. In the meantime, Juventus has had its own focus trained on the same player. Sporting Lisbon’s president, Frederico Varandas, has dismissed claims of a gentleman’s agreement with Gyokeres’ agent that would allow for a transfer to either Arsenal or Manchester United for a specific fee.

Gyokeres Transfer Situation

Gyokeres, who has won all kinds of headlines for his strong play, recently commented on the regular rumors about his name filling transfer columns.

“There is a lot of talks at the moment, most of it is false. I will speak when the time is right.” – Gyokeres

Gyökeres must not be sold by Sporting for £59m (€70m). He emphasized that the club will not consider any offers at that value.

Manchester United’s interest goes to show how the young Jordan has made a name for himself in European football. With Juventus reportedly interested, Gyokeres might find himself at the center of a lucrative bidding war.

Leipzig’s Valuation of Sesko

RB Leipzig are looking to the valuations of players such as Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak for good comparable benchmarks. What they are doing is judging Benjamin Sesko on these letter grades. The club is reportedly looking for a transfer in the region of €80 million – £68.4 million – £85.5 million for their prodigious young forward.

Sesko enjoyed a breakout season, scoring 21 goals in all competitions. He set up six more, four of those goals coming in the Champions League. His performances have endeared him not just to clubs inside of England but all throughout Europe.

Arsenal have been linked with red hot prospect Sesko as they look to continue rebuilding their squad. They have difficulty in making payments on other acquisition targets. There are things like Newcastle not wanting to sell Alexander Isak and his value being sky high.

Arsenal’s Pursuit of Targets

Arsenal are strongly targeting a move for Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi. The club is said to be very confident about getting this transfer done, which would be a major upgrade to the clubs midfield options.

The Gunners stand to have serious competition in their transfer pursuits this summer window. Competitors such as Isak present the largest challenges in search as they become the most elusive marks. This turn of events only deepens the drama surrounding what is already a hot and competitive transfer market.
