The Philadelphia Eagles have made it official, announcing a multiyear contract extension for head coach Nick Sirianni. This decision cements his longterm fate with the organization after a stellar run. Sirianni, 43, has already established himself as one of the most effective head coaches in recent Eagles history since being hired in 2021. So far, he’s led the team to an outstanding 48-20 record.
Sirianni’s winning percentage of .706 ranks as the third-highest in the Super Bowl era, showcasing his ability to lead a competitive team. Under his guidance, the Eagles have made two Super Bowl appearances, including a decisive victory against the Kansas City Chiefs. Sirianni’s postseason record is 6-3, fancying up his knack for winning important games even more.
Prior to this extension, Sirianni was due to go into the last year of his initial five-year deal. Once again, on May 19, 2025, the team took to Twitter to announce their contract extension. This followed a stellar 2-year run, including an incredible 16-1 run in both the season and the postseason.
Jeffrey Lurie, owner of the Eagles, said Sirianni made him feel badly for those who didn’t give him credit for his leadership qualities. He suggested an extension might be in the works back during the NFL’s annual meeting. I can’t overstate how important sustained success is for the organization,” he said.
“As an organization, we have always strived to create a championship culture of sustained success. Nothing is more important to fostering such an environment than having tremendous leadership. Nick has embodied everything we were looking for in a head coach since we hired him four years ago. His authentic style of leadership, football intelligence, passion for the game, and growth mindset have helped to bring out the best in our team. I am excited for what the future holds for the Philadelphia Eagles.” – Jeffrey Lurie
With Sirianni’s arrival, a new day dawned for the Eagles. Despite these initial challenges, he quickly became a major asset for the franchise. He creates a happy locker room culture that players enjoy playing for. His commitment to player development might be what resonates with fans as much as any possible move.
