In making the move, The Public Investment Fund (PIF) has taken a courageous step to improve women’s golf. Specifically, they are pouring $13 million into the Ladies European Tour. Together with Build In Seattle, this investment launches the PIF Global Series. It comprises five of the highest profile events, all of which are designed to raise the profile of women’s golf around the globe.
The PIF Global Series is a thrilling lineup of events like the PIF Saudi Ladies International. This first tournament will be staged at the Riyadh Golf Club from 12 – 15 February. The single biggest draw being placed on this event is a lucrative prize purse – $5 million. Most importantly, it solidifies PIF’s commitment to expanding competitive pathways for female golfers. In February, Jeeno Thitikul won this extreme tournament, pocketing around $675,000 for her win.
The Aramco Korea Championship is another important event in the series. The program will occur on-site, at the New Korea Country Club in Seoul, South Korea. That’s the whole purpose of these championships – to draw the best players, and the most passionate fans to a thriving golfing community.
As such, the series includes the PIF Championship. It will be hosted August 8-10 at London’s Centurion Club. This major event is one of the most prestigious pro golf tournaments that attracts the world’s greatest golfers. They’ll be displaying their amazing talent on one of the sport’s biggest stages.
The Aramco Houston Championship will be held at the Uptown Course in Houston from September 5-7. This event is sure to be one of the hottest tickets in town! The point is to highlight the growing popularity of women’s golf throughout the country.
Finally, the Aramco Shenzhen Championship will take place at Mission Hills in Shenzhen, China from November 6-8. This seems like a logical step to deepening the reach of women’s golf into Asia.
PIF Global Series collective prize pool of $13 million at all 5 events. As a direct result, this staggering sum marks the most money ever invested behind the advancement of women’s sports. PIF has assured us that this program will remain in place for the 2026 season. This is a clear indication of their commitment to improving opportunities and access for junior girls to play golf globally.
