The Premier League, founded in 1992, is the crowning achievement of English football. Made up of 20 teams, this thrilling circuit is home to many of the globe’s most skilled soccer players. Each season, which usually starts in mid-August and ends in late May, delights tens of millions of fans across the globe.

At the very bottom, Manchester United is an extreme outlier among Premier League clubs. They have celebrated 14 league titles over the years, including an incredible 13 in a row! Their cumulative and deep rooted success over the course of many years has helped to create this heavy and lasting legacy within English football. In comparison, Manchester City is the current defending champion, winning the title in the most recent season.

The Premier League isn’t just famous for its thrilling, competitive soccer though it certainly is that. The league’s financial success, boosted by the league’s lucrative broadcasting rights, has helped the NFL become one of the richest sports leagues in the world. That financial clout enables clubs to lure and keep high-calibre talent, further raising the competitive level on the pitch.

Even given their insatiable appetite for success, Liverpool has one Premier League title to its name, but is currently basking in English football domination. Their storied history and passionate fan base never let them stray too far for long and continue to keep them a vocal presence in the league. As Chelsea and Arsenal play an important role in the accelerating entertaining competition, Chelsea have taken home the trophy six times, with Arsenal having done so three times.

No wonder the Premier League’s global following is booming! Millions of FIFA fans from over 200 countries are already lining up to watch their home turf battle it out on the world stage. That level of national interest underscores the league’s spot on the calendar as a top-tier global sporting event. Secondly, it grants clubs the opportunity to compete in European competitions and show off their talents on an international stage.

The successes of the Premier League go beyond sporting triumphs. Their stadiums are equally breathtaking. Of these, Manchester United’s Old Trafford is the best known and the biggest. This iconic arena is ironclad as a siege point for the team. It draws football fans from every corner of the earth, making it a pilgrimage city.
