Spotlight on Showcase as Deion Sanders Highlights Top Draft Prospects

Deion Sanders hosted the “We Ain’t Hard 2 Find Showcase,” an event designed to spotlight the talents of key Colorado football players, including his son Shedeur Sanders and standout Travis Hunter. Held recently, the showcase featured a prominent lighted sign reading “The Showcase” that accompanied various drills, emphasizing the significance of the occasion.

The event attracted attention as Shedeur Sanders, regarded as the No. 1 quarterback in the upcoming NFL draft, participated along with Travis Hunter, who tops Mel Kiper Jr.’s Big Board as the No. 1 overall player. The event served as a platform for both athletes to showcase their skill leading up to the draft. We found this event to be most impactful on shaping their professional futures.

>Sanders showed us all during the regular season just how versatile he truly is. He averaged over 115 snaps per game with 1,380 total snaps in only 12 games at Colorado. His contributions included 670 snaps on offense, 686 on defense, and 24 on special teams, showcasing his all-around capabilities on the field. During the showcase, he went through a throwing workout that lasted just under an hour. Along the way, he unabashedly wore his talents on his sleeve.

“I feel like I’m the No. 1 quarterback, and that’s what I know. But at the end of the day, I’m not stuck on that because it’s about the situation, so whatever situation, whatever franchise believes in me, I’m excited to go…. I’m comfortable in any situation.” – Shedeur Sanders

As we know, another major buzzmaker at the event was freshman two-way star Travis Hunter. As a receiver last year, he was just as impressive with 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns. As a defensive lineman, he racked up 35 tackles, 11 pass breakups, and four picks. His incredible rookie campaign last year helped net him extensive recognition. Mathis won the Chuck Bednarik Award for the top defensive player and the Fred Biletnikoff award for being the best receiver.

Will Sheppard turned heads with a sick, sub-4.4 40. He ran 4.56 and 4.54 second shuttle times, making his own splash alongside Sanders and Hunter. Measuring in at 6’2 ¼” and 196 pounds, Sheppard has ideal size for an NFL cornerback. His powerful performance raised the bar for the next generation of artists featured at the event.

In doing so, Deion Sanders made a big deal about how much money both Shedeur and Hunter stand to make in the next NFL draft. He pointed to the fact that both players happen to be the top two prospects available this year.

“I think one of those guys is going to be there [at No. 2].” – Deion Sanders

At the end of the showcase, Shedeur Sanders was pleased with his performance and glad to see how well he did in drills and one-on-ones.

“I think I did pretty good, to my expectations,” – Shedeur Sanders

The event opened to these athletes an opportunity to showcase the diversity of their skills, and their preparedness to take that leap to the next level. It’s their ridiculous ranks in statistics last season that have them poised to be one of the best. Now, their breakout at the showcase has only added to that momentum as they head into this draft.

You can hear it in the excitement of coaches and scouts as they discuss the next crop of NFL talent. Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter have emerged as sensational prospects. They’re still learning their craft, and the excitement for their future in pro football is still high.
