With the opening of Levi’s Stadium on the San Francisco 49ers’ horizon, they too are bracing for a financial tsunami. They aim to continue building their roster by signing established contracts with central players. Brock Purdy, quickly establishing himself as one of the league’s most exciting young talents, is leading the charge on these fireworks. Purdy’s set to make $5,365,253 in 2025. To this day, he’s already earned a total of $2.56 million in base salary across his first three NFL seasons. His phenomenal performance really stood out. After finishing fourth in the MVP voting in 2023, he’s already become one of the biggest bargains in the league.
Now Lynch is feeling good about getting a long-term, long-term contract extension with Purdy. Lynch’s optimism is evident as he expects Purdy to remain a pivotal part of the team’s future.
“I think we’re going to get the deal done,” – John Lynch
Purdy is obviously very motivated to get a deal done with the 49ers before the offseason program starts up in mid-April. He expressed the desire not to miss any OTAs, further demonstrating that he’s all in on the team and success that lies ahead.
“I don’t think it’s too optimistic [to get it done by then],” – John Lynch
At the same time, the 49ers are making their mark on Brandon Aiyuk, who has developed into an invaluable weapon for the team. Aiyuk signed a four-year, $120 million extension with the team through August. He’s scheduled to be paid a $22.85 million bonus on Tuesday. After taking home 2022 second-team All-Pro honors, Aiyuk is only getting started.
Aiyuk’s rehabilitation just a week or two ago with Dr. Neal ElAttrache down in Los Angeles. The 49ers have to be excited about his continued progress. In a recent interview, Lynch doubled down on how committed the team is to Aiyuk and that they have no intention of trading him away.
“You always take calls from folks, but we’ve always been interested in Brandon being a part of the Niners. We made that decision when we signed him, and it’s good to hear that he’s tracking well with his progress. He’s working really hard to do so, and I expect fully that Brandon Aiyuk will be a part of us moving forward.” – John Lynch
Accounting for these future financial obligations is a sign of the 49ers long term organization planning to continue winning, and stay one step ahead of the pack. What’s Next Both Purdy and Aiyuk have been inspirationally amazing this season and completely dedicated to the cause, making them immeasurable assets going forward.
