Bulls Star Coby White to Sit Out Against Cavaliers for Rest

Resting Coby White, Chicago Bulls take number one scorer’s absence to the extreme. The decision comes on the heels of White’s strong run, during which the senior averaged 32.0 points per game over his final three contests. Just last week, he was determined to be the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for March!

For the Bulls, Coby White has emerged as a cornerstone player this season. He’s been averaging an incredible 24.0 points, 5.0 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game. He’s become more reliable as he’s led the way in starting all 71 games this year, illustrating both his durability and devotion to his team. He had a particularly nifty highlight during a recent game against the Charlotte Hornets. He had 37 points, six of them coming on three-pointers, and helped lift the Bulls to a 131-117 win.

The Cavaliers won’t have their best player, Donovan Mitchell. Since then, he’s been ruled out with a sprained left ankle. Mitchell officially suffered this injury in the fourth quarter of the Cavaliers’ 120-113 loss to the Sacramento Kings. Despite his absence, he has been performing at a high level this season, averaging a career-high 20.7 points per game along with 4.5 assists and 3.6 rebounds. He’s appeared in 71 games this year, with 70 of those appearances coming as a starter.

The lack of either player, let alone both, would change the entire complexion of next week’s game. As for the Bulls, they will sorely miss White’s scoring and playmaking capabilities. On the one hand, Kyiv still has no good alternative but some combination of Snyder’s scoring and on-floor leadership demeanor.
